The Stephen Miller Story: From Pestering Latino Students in High School to Drafting Muslim Ban

Wednesday, February 15, 2017 By Amy Goodman, Democracy Now! | Video Interview

WN: Someone described Stephen Miller as a snot-nosed little kid with grown-up wannabe extreme attitude. (I embellished that description a little…) My kids are around his age (he’s 31). Were he my kid with that kind of pathetic insolence, I’d take him aside for a thorough thrashing – I who do not believe in spanking kids (never have), or violence!  So I guess I’d have to be satisfied with a royal tongue-lashing instead. Of course, someone should have done that with Trump years since, and, well, just about everyone else in his administration promoting Trump “policy” that is sheer “apotheotic” (my coining) racism, xenophobia and bigotry of an utterly execrable kind, worthy of little kids in kindergarten who throw temper tantrums and torture helpless animals. Only fools get off on offending!: Miller is classic instance. Trump has laughably yet tragically entirely surrounded himself with such. Would that they all crawl back into their hell-holes until they learned some kindergarten manners.

Sigh…

Introduction of Video (see below for link to website):

A new investigation by Univision shows how President Trump’s senior White House policy adviser, 31-year-old Stephen Miller, was well known at his Santa Monica High School for heckling his fellow Hispanic classmates, including telling them to speak only English. He’s now best known as one of the architects behind Trump’s Muslim travel ban. For more, we speak with one of Miller’s former classmates, Cynthia Santiago, the first Latina president of the school’s Associated Student Body and now an immigration defense lawyer who has been helping people impacted by Trump’s travel ban. We also speak with Univision reporter Fernando Peinado. His recent piece is titled “How White House advisor Stephen Miller went from pestering Hispanic students to designing Trump’s immigration policy.”
