Voices Rock Medicine Women Physicians’ Choir

A Toronto-Based Choir of Women Physicians singing “Rise Again” by Leon Dubinsky

WN: The first video below is so inspiring–and beautifully sung; full of hope!

Further: a beloved Spiritual Director/Singer/Songwriter in Mission BC, Cathy AJ Hardy, has written and performed a powerful song in relation to working with women in abusive relationships; drawn from experience. I’ve heard her perform this in person many times. It is just as powerful for us men, who have different kinds of “rising up” to undertake: so often tragically to overcome a surrounding culture that encourages us to create the very reality against which women are called to rise up!

Cathy does Phase Four of work with women in abusive relationships, through Mennonite Central Committee BC End Abuse, headed by Elsie Goerzen. Esther (longstanding partner and for over 10 years active in the program) and I are privileged to facilitate also a program for men, appropriately dubbed “Home Improvement“. Though all programs are now suspended.

But you may join Cathy in her “Evenings of Sung Prayers“. We always attended the moving monthly gatherings, which one may do online now.

The video following that immediate below is of Cathy’s performing Rise Up!
